Reflexology is an ancient, complementary therapy that works on the feet, hands and face. Following illness, stress or injury, the body may be in a state of imbalance and vital energy "zones" are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. "Zone Ten" represents the ten vertical lines that run along the body - these are the energy lines upon which reflexology is based. Reflexology is used to restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium which aids towards the healing process.
Usually after a treatment, tension may be reduced and you will certainly feel relaxed. You might also notice your mood and sense of wellbeing improving. You may also find that other aspects of your health improve (sleep, from my experience, is a common benefit; however, this happens on an individual basis). Anxiety is another example of how reflexology can "level out" the nervous system and elicits a warm feeling of calm and stillness. It is a perfect way to boost the body's immunity following illness.
